Cyndi, dressed in a cute checkered dress with virtually no makeup and FLAWLESS skin, a few others, and me somehow got into a conversation about music maintaining its relevance. The porcelain faced, formerly waffle headed pop star looked directly at me and made a reference to some David Bowie album that my Justin Timberlake loving ass had never heard of. I gave her a blank Simpsons stare, then bowed my head in shame.
I think she judged me for about a half a second, then in her heavy Queens accent said she was hungry and demanded to go someplace with good food. Amen, sister.
Cyndi Lauper made a guest appearance at West Hollywood landmark and overpriced gay drinking hole, The Abbey, this past Sunday. According to several reports, the gays lost they damn minds when Lauper she-bopped amongst them. One source tells me, "they were squealing, holding their faces, and bursting into tears." And that was just the dudes.
Lauper and a few pals carved out a little area in the back and proceeded to dance around for a lengthy period of time while looking cute and crazy.
Dear Chelsea's hair,
You look awesome. I remember when you were product-free and awkward (circa mid-90s) and basically a walking ball of fuzz. I have to compliment you on the ways you've learned to control yourself. One time during the mid-90s, someone said I looked like you. I wanted to punch them in the mouth. But now, if someone said that to me, well, I would think it was okay.
Chelsea Clinton was in LA over the weekend campaigning for her mom. She started her Saturday morning off at The Abbey, brunching with undecided voters, then headed over to the Grove. Unlike most celebs who coily slip by alongside the masses, Chelsea was totally mobbed.
Tatyana Ali got her gayboy lurve on at The Abbey last Friday night. She dropped in for a drink or two and was surrounded by a huddle of gays fawning over her every move. Really? Okay.
Sources spied the unofficial Queen of West Hollywood, Work Out's Jackie Warner, sipping drinks and neither getting crazy drunk or making out with anyone at The Abbey on Friday night. Boo. Visibly absent was her pet trainer/gf in training Rebecca.
